Kids enjoy Golfway Christmas event!

Published on 22nd Dec 2023

Over 60 children enjoyed days of Christmas golf fun at Castle Wood Academy in Lincolnshire as part of the HAF programme (Holiday Activity Food).

Activities included traditional Golfway Play games, glow-in-the-dark Golfway games, healthy food preparation, golf ball and tote bag Christmas-themed decorating. The children enjoyed a Christmas dinner prepared by the school and took home a gift bag including a water bottle and Golfway Champion golf glove.

The HAF programme aims to provide children with fun activities and nutritious meals during the school holidays. This joint initiative between Lincolnshire Council, Golf Foundation, PING and Golfway aims to introduce new audiences to golf and break down the sports barriers to entry.

HAF Project Officer at Lincolnshire Council Katie Cawdron, commented: "The children have learnt a new sport today in golf, as well as developing other valuable skills through the Golfway games such as communication, team building and confidence."

Nick Horrocks Partnerships Director at Golfway, said: "Introducing so many children to golf through events such as this is truly rewarding. Alongside the golf skills, they have learnt about healthy snack choices, made Christmas decorations and had a cooked dinner. We look forward to supporting future initiatives with Lincolnshire Council, PING and the Golf Foundation."
